During the low season of November 1st through April 30th the Capitol Hill Guest House offers monthly rates for longer term guests looking for temporary accommodations. This is a European style of accommodation where guests are welcome to use the common areas to make themselves at home, including using the gourmet kitchen to prepare and store meals.
Monthly rate guest accommodations include:
Cable television in room
Complimentary wireless internet access
Free long distance within the US from any of the house phones.
Off-street parking for one car
Access to on-site laundry facility
Access to kitchen
Monthly Reservations
Reservations are accepted in person, by phone or email. If you are interested in having a tour of the home we would be glad to set up an appointment with you. Rooms are held with a non-refundable deposit of $200 secured with a visa, master card or discover credit card. The first month's rent is due in full at time of check-in, no exceptions. For monthly rate guests we accept personal checks, cashier's checks, money order, travelers checks or cash. We DO NOT charge monthly rent on credit cards.
Policies
Long
term guests (30 days or more) are charged a $200 deposit at the time of
reservation and this deposit is retained as a damage deposit while a
guest is in the home. Long term guests will be refunded their deposit as
long as the room is left in good condition, check-out cleaning has been
performed and the keys have been returned. Deposits are not refunded
for cancellation of long term rooms.
Advance
payment is due for monthly rate guests at check-in and due again every
30 days following the initial check-in date. A late payment fee of $50
is assessed for payments not made on or before due date. Non payment of
monthly rent within 5 days will result in removal of belongings from
the guest house.
Monthly
rates available during the off-season are priced at
50-75% off of the regular nightly rate. Refunds are not given for early
departures under any circumstances.
Damages. You
are expected to leave your room in as good a condition as it was given
to you. Any damage caused by you to our home inside or outside of your
room such as carpet stains, soiled furnishings, broken windows or
appliances will result in the forfeiture if the entire
damage/cleaning/security deposit.
Long term guest check-out cleaning.Please
remove your bed sheets and towels and place in the laundry room. Windex
any mirrored surfaces and wipe down desk and nightstand. Please vacuum
on your way out! Leave key in room with door unlocked. Deposits are
retained as a cleaning fee if check-out cleaning is not performed.
House Rules
No Shoe Policy.
No exceptions. Please bring house slippers or socks if you are more
comfortable. With our well
known wet weather, Seattleites are accustomed to taking off wet/dirty
shoes at the door. It helps keep our home clean for all guests to
enjoy. And you just might like the cozy and relaxed atmosphere it
brings. Mahalo and Arigato.
Kitchen. The kitchen is open from 8:00
am to 10:00 pm and is strictly enforced. This rule is in respect to our
guests sleeping in rooms adjoining the kitchen. All items in the
kitchen marked "House" are welcome to be consumed by all guests. Please
clean up after yourself by wiping the stove, counter tops etc. and
place all dirty dishes in the dishwasher or on drying rack if hand
washed. Remember you share the kitchen space with your fellow guests
and any mess left is unfair to the next person. Our Innkeepers are here to help with running of the operations, but are not to be considered the maid service to long term guests.
Housekeeping.Our
housekeepers clean all of the common areas twice weekly. If
you are a long term guest on a monthly rate, you are responsible for
cleaning your own room including linens and towels furnished to you.
You will find cleaning supplies in the kitchen closet. Please exercise common courtesy and clean up any messes or accidents you may cause. We must all do our part to keep the home clean and inviting for all guests.
Bathrooms.
There are five shared bathrooms in the home. Feel free to use any
bathroom that is open. Please do not leave personal hygiene items in
the bathroom shower stalls or counters. You are welcome to use the
drawers and cabinets for personal items. Unfortunately we all shed, so
please wipe up your hair from vanity and floor when done using bathroom.
Lost keys. $25 dollar replacement fee. Parking.
Our parking lot is on first come first serve basis and is for paying,
registered guests only. Only one space per room is offered regardless of number of occupants in the room. If you have visitors they must park on the
street.
Repairs.
We reserve the right to inspect your room with 24 hour advance notice.
We reserve the right to enter it at anytime to make repairs in the
event of an emergency. No Smoking, burning candles or incense allowed on the property! You will be asked to vacate the property if these rules are not followed. Smoking is prohibited in any public building and within 25 feet of any opening of the structure per Washington State RCW 70.160.
